Why Secure File Sharing Matters
Emailing a PDF as an attachment means losing control the moment you hit Send. PDFXINET share links give you a time-limited, revocable URL so the recipient gets the file without you handing over your account credentials or storage.
Step-by-Step: Create a Share Link
- Go to your Dashboard and find the file you want to share in Recent Files.
- Click the Share icon (bi-share) next to the file.
- In the Copy Link tab, choose an expiry window: 1 hour, 24 hours, 7 days, or enter a custom number of hours.
- Click Generate Link.
- Copy the link and send it however you like. Anyone with the link can download the file — no PDFXINET account required.
Step-by-Step: Send the File by Email
- Open the Share modal for a file and click the Send Email tab.
- Enter the recipient's email address and an optional message.
- Choose an expiry window and click Send Email.
- The recipient receives a branded email with a download button. The link is automatically created and tracked.
Managing Your Share Links
Go to Dashboard → Share Links (or the user menu) to see every link you have ever created, along with its status (active, expired, or revoked), the number of times it has been downloaded, and when it was last accessed.
To revoke a link before it expires, click the Revoke button. Anyone who tries to use the link afterwards will see an error — the file will not be served.
Rate Limiting & Security
- Each link is limited to 10 downloads per IP per hour to prevent abuse.
- Links store only the file's internal filename — never an absolute server path.
- Share links are separate from your account: revoking a link does not delete the file from your history.
