Accessibility Statement

Last updated: 16 August 2026  |  Applies to: pdfxinet.com and all subdomains

1. Our Commitment

PDFXINET is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We continually improve the user experience for everyone and apply relevant accessibility standards.

We aim to conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) as referenced by:

  • The UK Equality Act 2010 (duty to make reasonable adjustments)
  • EN 301 549 (European accessibility standard for ICT products and services)
  • The EU Web Accessibility Directive (2016/2102/EU)
  • Section 508 of the US Rehabilitation Act (for US users)
  • The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Title III (web accessibility)

2. Current Accessibility Status

PDFXINET is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. "Partially conformant" means that some content does not fully conform to the accessibility standard.

What works well

  • All pages use semantic HTML5 landmarks (<nav>, <main>, <footer>)
  • All images and icons have appropriate alt text or aria-label
  • Colour contrast ratios meet WCAG AA requirements for body text (4.5:1 minimum)
  • The website is navigable by keyboard (Tab, Shift+Tab, Enter, Space, Arrow keys)
  • Focus indicators are visible on interactive elements
  • Forms include associated <label> elements for all inputs
  • Error messages are programmatically associated with their fields
  • Flash messages use role="alert" for screen reader announcement
  • The page title is descriptive and unique for each page
  • Text can be resized up to 200% without loss of content or functionality
  • Bootstrap 5's accessible components are used throughout

Known limitations

  • PDF output files: Generated PDF files may not themselves be fully accessible (tagged PDFs). We are working to add PDF/UA tagging to outputs. If you need an accessible PDF, please contact us.
  • Signature canvas (E-Sign tool): The HTML5 canvas drawing interface for handwritten signatures has limited screen reader support. The typed and upload options provide equivalent functionality.
  • Complex data tables in admin views: Some admin dashboard tables may need improved header associations. These are restricted to authenticated admin users only.
  • Live chat widget: The live chat interface may not be fully operable by keyboard in all browsers. Email support is always available as an alternative.
  • File upload drag-and-drop zones: Enhanced keyboard interaction for drag-and-drop areas is being improved. The standard file input button is always available as a keyboard-accessible alternative.

3. Technical Specification

PDFXINET relies on the following technologies for conformance with the accessibility standard:

  • HTML5
  • CSS3
  • JavaScript (ECMAScript 2015+)
  • ARIA (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) attributes
  • Bootstrap 5 (which includes built-in ARIA support)
